Business Case & Tool Forum – Call for Papers and Presentations
Research on practical implementations and tools is essential to the practice of enterprise modeling, helping to bring modeling languages, methods, and innovations to life. As such, enterprise modeling research has historically been interested in and engaged with the ideation and development of novel tools. Likewise, tool vendors and the market are heavily interested in the newest scientific achievements and how to incorporate them into tooling environments.
The aim of this track is to demonstrate and advance the state of the art in modeling implementations and tools. Within the scope are implementations based on software and services, connecting and integrating software and services in novel ways, and demonstrating modeling advancements with emerging technologies such as AI, XR, robotics, or DLT, and related areas.
We invite both business professionals and academic researchers to submit a paper, a presentation proposal, or both in order to foster knowledge exchange and initialize potential collaborations.
Business Case & Tool Forum Topics
- Enterprise modeling implementations and tools
- Modeling language implementations for standards such as ArchiMate, BPMN, ER, and UML, ELM, EKD, I*, GORE or new modeling languages
- Software and services related to modeling
- Integration of software/services for modeling, including APIs and cloud services
- AI, XR, robotics, DLT in enterprise modeling
- Novel interfaces and interaction approaches for modeling
- Model-based engineering, low-code/no-code tools
- Modeling and interfacing with digital twins
- Collaborative modeling
- Model versioning and evolution
- DevOps for modeling
- Domain-specific language (DSL) implementations
- Modeling for knowledge graphs, ontologies, linked data
- Applications in business, academia, teaching
Contribution Types
We invite short or long papers as well as presentation proposals (without a paper):
Short papers (up to 6 pages) and long papers (7–12 pages):
They may discuss the aforementioned topics, present case studies, tools, challenges, or experience reports. Tool demonstrations are also welcome.
Presentation proposals (1–2 pages):
Presentations may demonstrate tools, present case studies, or report on experiences. They must have a clear objective and show advancement without revolving around product promotion.
Submission Guidelines
All submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
- Papers will be peer-reviewed by at least two PC members and published in CEUR-WS Proceedings.
- Presentation proposals will not be published and, thus, the decision on acceptance will be made by the forum chairs. The final presentations will be published on the conference website.
Authors agree that at least one author of an accepted contribution will register for the conference and present the contribution at the Forum.
Submissions should follow the CEUR 1-column format
- Short papers: up to 6 pages
